EPIC WEATHER DISCUSSION REPORT

REVIEW OF PREVIOUS FORECAST

fine weather in HUX - enjoy - ditto for today...

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Weather mostly clear in the EPIC warm pool region (Image 1) from 100w to central 
america north of 8N.  No hint of ITCZ; but stratus clouds just end at about 8N.  Storm that C130 flew thru 
on Saturday now named tropical storm Lorena and located near 13N, 104W and headed 285 at 9 kt - no 
threat to EPIC region.  Although total precipitable water has decreased along 95W line, stratus deck has 
increased in coverage and amount at the same time - perhaps moisture is trapped only in a thin boundary 
layer with very dry air aloft.

DISCUSSION

Uneventful weather...no real ITCZ al all...when will it return?  Still no hint.
