Galapagos Operations Report From: Steve Esbensen Date: 28 September 2001, 2000LT Overall: Aerosondes and some fuel expected on Wednesday Aerosondes Francisco Paredes from the Galapagos INAMHI station has gone to Guayaquil to hire a competent shipping agent and organize the customs and shipping negotiations on our behalf. We now expect aerosondes and support equipment to clear Ecuadorian customs in Guayaquil on Tuesday, 2 October, with air shipment to the Galapagos on Wednesday, 3 October. Fuel is expected to clear customs on Thursday, 4 October, and arrive by ship on Sunday, 7 October. We should, however, be able to secure enough fuel to be able to begin test flights shortly after the aerosondes arrive on Wednesday. The Aerosonde and OSU teams plan to carry out SST front missions until 22 October. Soundings 0000GMT and 1200GMT continuing. Operations Center Up and running.
