REVIEW OF PREVIOUS FORECAST
EPIC area is still feeling the after effects of Juliette. Air Force recon found 922mb in Juliette yesterday,
second lowest pressure ever recorded in an east Pacific hurricane.
GENERAL OVERVIEW
Today, a cold front has pushed far south (Image 1)
into the Gulf of Mexico and may be generating weather along and across the Istmus of Tehuantepec. A
weak cyclonic shear line is found along 93W from the coast to near 5N with a bit of Cb activity along it.
There is strong vertical wind shear with northeasterly winds of 35-45 kts at upper levels. ITCZ may be
trying to organize along 5-6N from 95W to the coast of central america. We've lost track of the esterly
wave upstream...it may still be over Honduras but little development is expected due to strong shear. So,
we're just waiting to see how the ITCZ re-establishes as the influence of Juliette diminishes.
DISCUSSION
Classic ITCZ expected to develop over the next few days as other large-scale
synoptic influences expected to be weak.
