Galapagos Operations Report From: Steve Esbensen Date: 19 September 2001, 1053LT Overall: Aerosonde personnel and equipment on the move again Aerosondes The first shipment of aerosondes and fuel required to begin operations has arrived in Guayaquil from Miami. The shipment must clear Ecuadorian customs before the cargo can be shipped (literally) to the Galapagos. The aerosonde team is expected to arrive in Quito from Los Angeles tonight, 19 Sep. They have confirmed reservations on the first available TAME flight, Sunday, 23 Sep, to San Cristobal. Aerosonde flights could begin as early as Monday, 24 Sep, if all goes well with team travel, and customs and cargo loading in Guayaquil, this week. Soundings 0000GMT and 1200GMT continuing.
