CLIMATE CONDITIONS:
A moderate MJO has moved out into the central Pacific 180-160W
and is further east than previous MJOs (Image 1). This MJO is associated
with wind bursts and has generated another oceanic Kelvin wave (Image 2).
This Kelvin wave was generated in the central Pacific so transit time
to coast of south america will be shorter than previous ones.
After TS Ivo, we've been under influence of several batches of drier air
(lower PW values) propagating through (Image 3). This is keeping
convection supressed north of ITCZ.
