OSU team can initiate dial-up telnet and ftp sessions automatically from desktops. External session response has been improved, although still slow. Nic Thum will configure the Ops Center LAN for ftp between the Ops Center computers. This will complete the setup. Note that the Ops Center phone cannot be used for voice communication while there are any external computer sessions going on. There is only one phone line into the Ops Center. If the Ops Center phone is busy, it may be possible to reach us through INAMHI personnel at the INAMHI met station, just a few meters from the Ops Center. His symptoms were all consistent with dysentary. Three similar cases were reported to the doctor treating Nic on the same day, with one of the persons being hospitalized. Mario Agama and his family have gone above and beyond in assisting with Nic's care, arranging visits to the physician, and providing the special diet required for his recovery. Mario's sister-in-law is an RN with 25 years experience, who has been assisting the physician with Nic's treatment. We are feeling very grateful to these folks and confident that Nic will fully recover in a few days.
