MISSION REPORT:

The C130 flew a 95 W mission to 1 S. The P3 paralleled the C130 track from 12 N to 5 N and back, 30 km west of 95 W, at an elevation of 6000 ft. The purpose of the P3 flight was to obtain radar data on any convection encountered by the C130. However, little or no such convection was encountered, as conditions were very suppressed. The P3 experienced northeasterly winds at 6000 ft for the entire flight. All systems functioned on the P3 except that FSSP recording failed. (The instrument itself is OK, and the same problem should not be encountered on the next flight.)
