MISSION REPORT:

Mission #1
P-3
D. J. Raymond flight scientist

ITCZ pattern -- We flew a lawnmower pattern at 6000', bounded by 93W, 12 N and 97 W, 8N, 4 north-south passes. The C-130 was flying legs at various altitudes along 95 W. The P-3 radar was operational in FAST mode for the entire pattern and return to Huatulco, but not in the initial ferry. All other instrumentation appeared to work.

Note -- With minor exception, we neither sought or avoided convection, but just flew through what was in our path.
