Program Goal:
Spark and maintain an interest for underrepresented students considering STEM careers.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The program offers a one-credit-hour class at New Mexico Tech geared towards second-year students. Participants are introduced to science and engineering materials developed by NASA, paired with NASA mentors from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission, and have the opportunity to observe NASA's LRO Mission Meetings. There are no prerequisites for this class.
The class has a maximum enrollment of 10 students. Those who enroll in the fall are expected to re-enroll in the spring. By the end of the spring, participants are expected to apply for internships at NASA.
